Spearfishing is the primitive act of fetching fish from a body of water using a pointy object. There is talent and technique involved, but, that is the basis of it!

What You Will Need To Get Started:

• A knife (optional)
  
• A Spear or similar pole-arm
  
• A Bucket, Basket or Bag
  

The supplies for taking up Spearfishing are basic and accessible. So much so that if you have even the most rudimentary knowledge of either woodworking or bushcraft a whittled spear can be whipped up with just a knife in only a few minutes. Do keep in mind that driving your spear or pole-arm into the water comes with risks of striking the bottom and causing damage. For this, it may be worth considering an easily replaceable wooden spear over a steel spear.

Where You Will Need To Go To Get Started:

Unlike angling which can take place is virtually any body of water, Spearfishing does require that the body be shallow enough for you to stand in, and, calm enough to allow you to see through the water and not be knocked over by the current. You will find this to oftentimes be the shoreline of a small lake or smaller rivers.

Other Considerations:

• Spearfishing is an excellent entry point for those new to the Lost Lands, as you can take advantage of your skill with Melee weapons.
• The fish will die when impailed.
